Blog is nothing but online journal that allows people to post, edit articles and contents. Blog is a ready made site that allows user to post the content without bothering about the code. For example, it a person wants to post content in a web site, he needs to edit the html code whereas in the case of blog, user can post the content just by clicking the button.
Basically there are two types of blog, free blog and paid blog. Free blog is more common that offered by many services. Similar to creating an email account one can get the free blog by signing up. Nowadays free blog allows many features like posting, audio, video files etc.
Paid blog is something more sophisticated than free blog. It allows user to modify the code of the blog thus user can customize the design, theme and various settings.
Blogs were primarily used to share opinions, idea etc. In recent days blogs are used to earn money too. Blogs are playing a vital role in SEO as it is great place for providing back links.
